The brief!

In order to prepare your A2 Media Studies coursework- The Advanced Portfolio, you need to:

• Work in groups of 3/4 people to plan and produce a reconstruction of a minute from an existing music video.
• Set up your individual A2 coursework blog and choose your coursework ok brief.
• Gather and evidence research into the conventions of your choen brief over the summer starting with codes and conventions of your media form with examples, and also the genre of the text you intend to produce. (i.e. Music Video conventions and Rock conventions as an example).

A2 Brief:
1. A promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together with two of the following three options:

• a website homepage for the band
• a cover for its release as part of a digipak (CD/DVD package)
• a magazine advertisement for the digipack (CD/DVD package)

2. A promotion package for a new film, to include a teaser trailer, together with two of the following three options:

• a website homepage for the film
• a film magazine front cover, featuring the film
• a poster for the film

3. A short film in its entirety, lasting approximately five minutes, which may be live action or animated or a combination of both, together with two of the following three options:

• a poster for the film
• a radio trailer for the film
• a film magazine review page featuring the film
